Orbit eTOG Listing Service: RFC-22 Decide if we want to try to get this off of Google results
Description:
Comments:
- probably yeah
- I don't want our business out there but it's VERY funny.
- It's a good thing
- i find this site thru searching :shortpathvac: so this would be unfortunate for me personally
- lmfao
- :shortpathvac: :shortpathvac: :shortpathvac: :shortpathvac: seo
- i think it might be worth having a login wall
- login wall :( most hated website feature to me
- just have a robots.txt with a default deny?
- > most hated website feature to me < :/ yea but theres already basic auth for writes, wont be too different to just protect the whole thing imo. and add a cookie
- related option would be to mark some TOGs as 'sensitive' or something where it wouldn't display assignees (or maybe not display the whole TOG) w/o being authed
- wait just use robots.txt
- the more general issue is about exposure outside the orbit I think
- for the moment at least i've made it so that if you ad !!secure!! to a TOG description it won't show the assignees until you've signed in at least once that session
- i've taken the liberty of adding it to those that seem like they might be objectionable to 3rd parties
- but feel free to add it to others for whatever reason
- the actual question of discoverability remains
- the cost of this being known outside the orbit is outweighed by this site doing its part to make the internet a big collection of weird pages and passion projects
